Can you feel the buzz of the holidays yet? We certainly can here at MoreCommerce! It’s that time of the year that pushes us harder and harder to ensure our merchants are successful. The sooner your business is prepared for the holidays, the more time you can focus on getting orders shipped and out the door! We’ve provided a few things you will want to mull over in preparation for Q4.

Listing Review

 

Have you fully optimized your listings in preparation for the holidays? As a seller on MoreCommerce, you can unlock the power of our platform by optimizing your listings. What is listing optimization? This is the process of enhancing your product titles, descriptions, SEO keywords, and uploading professional product images. Every optimization you make focuses on helping shoppers better understand your product as well as MoreCommerce! Below are some great key guidelines to help you optimize your listings:

 
Imagery:
  • Large clear product images
  • 500 X 500px minimum
  • 1248 x 1248px minimum dimensions for “zoomable” images
  • We recommend 4 images per product
  • Maximum file size 5MBs
 
Data Attribution Drives Search Volume:
  • Add UPC, ASIN, Brand, Model/MPN Numbers where applicable
  • Add simple and consistent color and sizing chart data
  • Avoid special characters and complex HTML code
 
Titles and Descriptions:
  • Titles should have between 50-70 characters or 4 to 5 words max
  • AVOID sale messaging, promotional details, etc. in titles
  • Be descriptive and accurate. Only include details about the product, and be sure to anticipate questions shoppers might have about your product
  • Include editorial style sentences when possible. This is your chance to talk directly to your shoppers, set the tone, and let them know what makes the product special to them. You could also describe how your product will solve a distinct dilemma or fix a unique problem
 

Shipping

 

Fast shipping and returns are always important to customers, but especially during the holidays. Make sure you’re up to speed on MoreCommerce's ecosystem of Shipping/Return policies, as well as our extended Holiday Returns Program which goes into effect on November 8, 2020.  We are expecting record volumes of sales this year and we recommend a staffing plan for coverage and fulfillment during the holidays, as well as sourcing fulfillment supplies.

Inventory and Fulfillment

 

With 2020 projecting to be the biggest holiday season for e-commerce thus far, shoppers will be expecting their orders to arrive more quickly than ever. This will be difficult, due to Covid-19, however, don’t be alarmed! Be sure to review your MoreCommerce inventory and make sure your stock levels are up to date before things get busier. This will allow your operations to run more smoothly once the holiday orders start pouring in!

 

You can download your inventory and/or full product files and make changes in bulk if needed using the options available in the Bulk Edit page within your account.

 

To avoid penalties, ensure you're taking all the necessary steps to stay within the guidelines outlined in our Merchant Quality of Service Agreements. Remember, once an order is placed you must make sure it is scanned by a valid carrier within 2 business days and delivered within 10 business days. As a goal, we suggest aiming for shipments to go out by noon (local time) and making sure they go to the carrier the same day.

 

Boost

 

Take advantage of MoreCommere’s Boost marketing tool. We make it easy for you to attract shoppers across the web to your products by simply opting into Boost Catalog. Additionally, you can drive your business through paid marketing opportunities such as Email Placement, Facebook Ads, and SMS Marketing through Boost Events.

Helpful Boost Event Tips:

  • When placing a bid in any Boost Event, we ask of you to ensure having a minimum of 20+ products - we would hate to see a great promotion suffer due to inferior inventory!
  • Make sure when submitting products that they’re your top sellers and those products adhere to the requirements asked of in the Boost Event.
  • Submit products that are fully optimized. Unfortunately, our merchandising team will reject Boost Event Bids if a listing is not of the highest quality.
  • Lastly, always submit products at the best price point. Remember, these are promotions being seen in front of 100's of thousands of qualified shoppers.
